10 DAYS UGANDA CULTURAL TOUR
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Kampala - 42km.
On arrival at the airport, you will be met by our guide who will then transfer you to Golf course hotel/Cassia lodge/ The lodge for the dinner and over night
Day 2: Buganda cultural trail
After breakfast, transfer to Kasubi tombs to visit the burial site for Buganda’s former kings. Transfer to the Kabaka’s lake a manmade lake. Visit the Twekobe palace and the Buganda parliament. Later on visit the Uganda museum. Dinner and overnight at Golf course hotel/Cassia lodge/ The lodge
Day 3: Kampala - Kibale Forest (450 km approx. 5-6 hours).
After breakfast, you will depart Kampala for Kibale Forest National park arriving in the afternoon. Kibale Forest is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey and Red Colobus. In the afternoon, you will go for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest returning in the evening. Seeing the way our “cousins” feed, climb trees, and respond to humans, caring for the young ones is a very interesting experience. On arrival visit the Omukama’s palace and Karambi tombs. Dinner and over night at either Primate lodge/Primate cottages/Chimpanzee guest house
Day 4: Chimpanzees trekking Kibale Forest National park
After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee tracking. This park has the largest concentration of chimpanzees and other primates in Uganda. You will return for lunch and then visit the Bigodi wetland swamp. Dinner and over night at either Primate Lodge/Primate cottages/Chimpanzee guest house
Day 5: transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After breakfast you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and if time allows you will go for a game drive as you enter the park. After lunch visit the Kazinga channel for a boat cruise, these areas is blessed with various bird species like the Pelicans, Skimmers, Kingfishers, Thick-knees, Storks, Martins, Swallows, Weavers, Canaries, Kites and many grassland specialties. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Hippo hill Camp/Simba safari camp
Day 6: game drives and birding
You will go for an early morning game drive along the Kasenyi tracks. After lunch drive through the Ishasha sector and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort/Lake Kitandara camp/ Buhoma community Bandas
Day 7: Gorilla Tracking
After breakfast you will transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing by the park guides, before you set off for the trek. The trek has no fixed duration time as it depends on the last night of where the apes slept from how ever it may be 2-9 hours depending on the movement of the giant primates. The activity is tiresome, it involves walking along steep hilly tracks however encountering these great relatives of man erases all the poor memories/ hardships you went through in trying to find them. They are awe-inspiring! Dinner and overnight at Gorilla resort/Lake Kitandara camp/ Buhoma community Bandas
Day 8: transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
This morning you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi after breakfast. Visit the Bakiga museum on arrival. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages/ Bird nest at Bunyonyi/Bunyonyi overland camp
Day 9: Batwa pygmy visit
After breakfast take a canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi to visit the local Batwa pygmies. These are the shortest people in Uganda. Study their way of life and be entertained by a cultural dance. Listen to the folk lore behind Bunyonyi islands. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia cottages/ Bird nest at Bunyonyi/Bunyonyi overland camp
Day10: transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, proceed to Kampala having a stop to look at the Equator for souvenirs. Dinner and overnight at Golf course hotel/Cassia lodge/ The lodge
