This safari takes you to the best of Uganda’s national parks. Enjoy wildlife in game drives without long queues like is the case in some places in East Africa. Have opportunities to encounter the endangered mountain gorilla and primates like the chimpanzees and various primate species. The salt lick nature walk gives you an opportunity to view at least 4 different animal species licking the salty soil. Visit the largest national park in Uganda and the spectacular Murchison falls. Take a breathtaking cruise along the Kazinga channel with view of aquatic bird and wildlife.


Day 1: arrival
Our company driver will meet you on arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer you to Golf course hotel/Cassia lodge/The lodge for dinner and overnight stay.


Day 2: Kampala - Lake Mburo

Early in the morning after breakfast, drive southwest to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have enroute stopovers to visit the Royal Drum makers, and the Equator for a photographic session if you please. An onsite guide will explain and make some important demonstrations and experiments to prove that this is the real equator. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park having a game drive as you enter the park. Possible sightings include: big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates. After lunch have a boat ride on Lake Mburo. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent - for birders and if you are lucky you will see the shoe bill. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented camp/Arcadia cottages/ Rwonyo rest camp.


Day 3: Mburo - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. (Approx. 6.5 hours drive).
After breakfast, you will have a salt lick nature walk where you will view unobserved at least 4 animal species licking the salty soil.  Exit Mburo for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas and afro - montane Forest which also attracts spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. You may decide to relax in the afternoon or take a nature walk (at an extra cost of $20 P.P) which will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and get a chance to see primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue Monkeys and others species. You will need to have a good night’s rest to get ready for the following day’s gorilla tracking. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Mantana Tented Camp / Lake Kitandara Tented Camp /Buhoma Community Bandas


Day 4: Gorilla Tracking - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast, you will depart for Buhoma Park headquarters for briefing on gorilla tracker’s code of conduct. This will be done by a park official. Thereafter a park ranger will lead you into the forest to search for the mountain gorillas at the point where the gorillas were left the day before. Maximum tracking time is one hour. The moment spent with these huge apes is exhilarating; the minutes will go by before you realize it. You may observe other resident primates whilst on your tracking expedition like pottos, bush babies and monkeys.  Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Mantana Tented Camp / Lake Kitandara Tented Camp /Buhoma Community Bandas


Day 5: Bwindi - Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will leave Bwindi and drive through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. After lunch enjoy an evening game drive in the open savannah on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley. You will search for the typical tree climbing lions found only in this part of the country.  Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Hippo hill camp/Simba safari camp


Day 6: Queen Elizabeth.
hipposToday you will go for an early morning game drive along Kasenyi where you may be able to see lions, elephants, Cape buffalo, warthogs, leopard, spotted hyena, mongoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, topi and a lot of small animals and birds. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, go for a boat cruise for the best navigation of the Kazinga Channel, a good opportunity for birding, as you will see many water birds, cormorants, pelicans, eagles, and many other birds as well as crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Hippo hill camp/Simba safari camp


Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park- Kibale
Have a morning game drive and later head for Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale Forest is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey and Red Colobus. After lunch visit the Omukama’s palace and Mparo tombs. Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge/Primate cottages/Chimpanzee guest house


Day 8: Chimp trekking Kibale Forest National park

After breakfast you will go for chimpanzee tracking. This park has the largest concentration of chimpanzees and other primates in Uganda.  You will return for lunch and then visit the Bigodi wetland swamp or have a crater lakes walk through the neighboring village. Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge/Primate cottages/Chimpanzee guest house


Day 9: Kibale National Park - Murchison Falls.

After breakfast, you will drive to Murchison Fall National park. This is a long drive as you travel north through the Rwenzori’s and the evergreen tea estates but well worth it. Once you reach the Nile in the heart of the Park you will cross on the ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge/Sambiya river lodge/Red Chilli camp for dinner and overnight.


Day 10: Game viewing and wildlife seeing in Murchison Falls

Go for an early morning game drive. In the afternoon take a boat cruise on River Nile up to the bottom of the falls, you may see various water birds like the rare shoebill and animals like hippos and crocodiles. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight


Day 11: Murchison Falls – Kampala
Early morning hike to the Top of Murchison Falls where you can have a close look in to the gorge where the Nile squeezes in to a 7 meter gorge dropping 40 meters. The falls are spectacular and thunderous with a beautiful rainbow displayed on sunny days. Later drive back to Kampala and transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
